On track at Spain’s Jerez Circuit, the Honda HRC team has completed a day and a half of fruitful WorldSBK testing with factory rider Xavi Vierge. Honda test riders Tommy Bridewell and Tetsuta Nagashima also took part in the session.

Dry, sunny weather allowed the factory squad to fully exploit Tuesday 15 and the morning of Wednesday 16 September. In high temperatures, Vierge worked hard with his technicians to test and identify setup solutions that can be of use during the final race weekend of the 2025 WorldSBK season, which will take place at this same Spanish track in October, and at the upcoming rounds, to be held at Motorland Aragón, Spain, and Estoril Circuit, Portugal.

As well as general setup tests, Vierge also focused on the testing of electronics and a new swingarm and felt that progress was made.

The Honda HRC team will be back in action on 26-28 September, competing in the tenth world championship round at Motorland Aragón.

“It’s been a productive test. We had a few things to try and so we focused on those. A new swingarm immediately provided better sensation. I noticed improved contact at the rear, which helps me stop the bike and enter corners more effectively. I think we still need to further adapt the bike setup to use it to its full potential, and our weak point remains corner exit. That said, it’s a small but positive step forward. We were lucky to find very good conditions, and the track offered good grip. But very high temperatures in the afternoon made it difficult to gather useful feedback, and when we return here in October, conditions are likely to be different. We therefore finished up what has been a very useful session at lunchtime on day two.”
