Honda HRC team ready to kick off winter testing
The Honda HRC team is set to begin its winter testing program in preparation for the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship, which will kick off at the Phillip Island Circuit in Australia on February 21-23.
The team is already on-site at the Jerez Circuit in Spain, ready for a two-day test session on January 22-23. Of the two factory riders, only Xavi Vierge will take to the Andalusian track, as Iker Lecuona is still recovering from an injury sustained while training two weeks ago. Lecuona suffered a cracked rib and minor contusions and although his injuries are not serious, the team has decided that the rider should sit out this week’s test as a precaution.
The Spanish rider is expected to rejoin his teammate for the next session at Portimão on January 28-29.
Honda test rider Tetsuta Nagashima will also participate in the upcoming tests at both Jerez and Portimão.
