Born on 15 January 1996 in Dover, England, Jake Dixon began his career in British championship racing, finishing fourth in the 2012 British Superstock 600 Championship at just 16 years old. He continued on in the Supersport 600 class until 2015, when he rounded out the season in third place overall, before stepping up to the British Superbike Championship. Gradually improving on his results throughout the 2016 season, Dixon made history in 2017 by becoming the youngest rider to qualify for the Showdown, finishing sixth overall, and followed this with a runner-up finish in the 2018 championship. He also made his Superbike World Championship debut as a wildcard in 2017, putting in a strong performance to cross the line in ninth place in Race 2 at home track, Donington Park.
Dixon entered the Moto2 World Championship in 2017 and became a full-time Grand Prix rider in 2019. He competed with Aspar, Petronas Sprinta Racing, before rounding out the 2023 season fourth overall with GasGas Aspar and proving competitive again in 2025, clinching fifth overall with the Marc VDS Racing Team. A successful tenure in the intermediate class saw Dixon amass 7 race wins and a total of 22 podium finishes. The latest 2025 season brought saw him outclass the competition and clinch victories in Argentina (Termas de Río Hondo), the Americas (COTA, Austin) and Malaysia (Sepang). In addition to his Moto2 career, Dixon made two MotoGP appearances during the 2021 season.
In 2026, 30-year-old Dixon will step up to the Superbike World Championship full-time, joining Honda HRC alongside Somkiat Chantra.
